Happy Wednesday; I hope your holiday weekend treated you well.
Today, I’m sharing with you another vocabulary resource that I’ve created. I really enjoy learning about vocabulary and creating resources using evidence-based strategies to increase a reader’s vocabulary.
With that in mind, I created a word walk game using the first-hundred words in the Fry Word vocabulary list. You may recall me discussing this list back when I shared my Fry Word concentration game with you.
To play the Word Walk game, cut out and laminate (if desired) all words provided. Lay them in a path and have the students take turns walking down the path. As they step on each word, they must be able to say it correctly. If they do not know the word, their turn is over. The challenge is to make it as far down the path as possible!
In addition to the game, the cards can be used for other purposes, such as flashcards.
You may also use the assessment included to identify target words for each student.
You can download this resource over on my TpT store by clicking here.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
